Preface

As promised, Writers for Ethiopian Children (WEC) presents its eight bilingual anthology of children's stories entitled ''Atazuregn'' from the children's game of spinning in circles and trying to become dizzy and not dizzy at the same time, for the older children.

Ms Helen Papworth's generous donation has also enabled us to publish this anthology and replenish the revolving funds. She has again contributed a story of her own and done her illustrations for it.

Ato Abyalew Assefa and Ato Atlabachew Reda are our lead illustrators and continue to help us in spite of their heavy workloads, as does Wzo Fetum Rahmet who does the the layout and design with a smile,
despite our continuous demands. Ato Yihenew Worku has taken forward the task of providing readers with the skill of reading pictures by contributing a picture story.

The authors have, as usual, contributed their stories free of charge and a third of the print-run will be distributed to selected educational institutions.

We are encouraged that our work is continuing and being encouraged by so many of you and -send out a big thank you to you all!
